About Us
Who are the Palisades High School Band Boosters?
Palisades High School Band Boosters is a organization that exists for the benefit of and to help promote the Palisades Bands Program and its students. Booster members include parents, extended family and friends; anyone interested in supporting our band students and helping out at various band events and activities. All of our success as a booster organization is attributed to the parents that are involved. We have parents that stay in front of everyone, and we have those that remain behind the scenes and help. Without help from each and every one of those parents, we could never accomplish the things that we do. The success of any booster organization is determined by those involved.
We would like to explain exactly what our Boosters do, why our organization is so important and why we could use more help. Our band students are willing to spend countless hours in the band room, on the practice field, at a parade, a football game, in an auditorium, or at a competition. There are days that begin early and end late. They do not do this for individual recognition, there are no individual awards. They do it for their school, their friends, and their band. That is pure and simply the definition of dedication!
A few things that we do as a booster organization:
Individually, our band parents will help with uniform fittings and alterations, make and pin sashes, and meet with potential donors and sponsors. They will drive the equipment truck, chaperone the band and cook meals. They will donate their time and expertise to build or maintain props and equipment. There are others that do not have any available time to give, but will donate supplies, snacks, water and anything else needed for the band.
Why could we use more help? First reason, every year we have parents that graduate. It may sound funny, but just think about it. When your child graduates from high school, so do you. In 2015-2016 we had 13 seniors graduate. In 2016-2017 we had 12 seniors graduate. In two years we lost 25 band students as well as their parents. Second reason, the more the merrier. We have great fun as a group. Just like our band students, we make new friendships each year. Many of us have made friendships that will extend long beyond our children's time in high school band. Our band is growing every year. As it grows, so too should the Boosters!
How do you join?
You are already a member as soon as your child joined the band. We meet once a month on the second Tuesday of the month in the high school Audion at 7pm. We hope to see you there!

A few things that we do as a booster organization:
- Organize the fundraisers that the band students participate in, as well as fundraisers that are done by the Boosters. These include brochure fundraisers, hoagie sales, an annual Car Wash at Wehrung’s (one of our sponsors), an annual Indoor Show, and the Stuff the Bus fundraiser in spring and fall, that benefits not only the Boosters, but the community as well.
- Manage funds raised, along with the band director, to purchase musical instruments, equipment, offset travel expenses for the band, maintain equipment, and cover any other costs not maintained by the school district. In any given year, there are thousands of dollars spent to accomplish these things.
- Organize meals to feed our hungry band students before all competitions. For football games, we sell 50/50 tickets, programs (which are put together with the help of one of our sponsors MinuteMan Press), popcorn and merchandise from our Band Shed. We move equipment, load and unload the equipment truck, and provide drinks and snacks for our band students. We have parents that come and go throughout an event as they are able. All day is not a requirement!
- Organize the Annual Band Banquet. The Band Banquet honors the Senior Band Students and celebrates the individual accomplishments of ALL the band students. With the band students and their families, we eat dinner, play games, enjoy each other's company and celebrate the accomplishments achieved throughout the year.
- Help organize trips for the band. Over the years the band has traveled and performed in places such as Boston, MA, Myrtle Beach, SC, Orlando, FL, and Wildwood, NJ.
